My name is Bekki. I am a poet. I cannot claim to be anything less, or more than what I am. I have been writing my poetry since I was in high school and do not foresee myself stopping anytime soon. My style is contemporary and done very much in the style of freestyle. My poems are free-thinking, which is to say I write them all in one sitting and then post them, they are done as singular thoughts and therefore, are never under any obligation to be any damned good to anyone else’s way of thinking, other then my own.
My poetry is a living, breathing part of who I am. If you like what you see come back often, as I write often, though, not always well. I have dyslexia so you may see a few errors in spelling at times, if you can see past that you might find I have something to offer.
My friends call some of my poems “thinking blocks” affectionately. I will tell you right now I don’t give a rats ass if you consider old dead poets the only measuring stick for good work or not, cause, though I like old poets, I also think that poetry should be a living, breathing entity, a “here now” creation of work never still and never completed. If the only poetry you consider good poetry are old dusty tomes that are used simply to make yourself appear superior, you may want to skip my blog.
If you are a poet and enjoy reading my work, welcome. I support other poets, however, please keep in mind that poets who come on other blogs simply to leave a link to their sites, and only do so as a means to leave a “billboard” advertisement annoy me muchly. If you read my work because you like it and include a link in your comments, much love to you, having a link in a comment you mean sincerely, is one thing, if you come on my blog for no other reason then to lay groundwork to get others to your site, be advised you will eventually annoy me enough to delete you.
This is my place to rest, where I offer others and myself a moment to embrace their inner spirit- with love, laughter, and gentle emotion. Feel free to pull up a convenient cloud, they are, after all, there for that reason.
Much love,
Bekki

You are a good poet, dagnabit! I shall prove it to you by you writing a poem about MEEEE!!!!
(grin) Ok, I will do one for you.
Thank you for opening up your space to the rest of us to lay our heads and eyes.
We all write our emotions and I am glad to have had the fortune of stumbling upon your page.
Thank you for sharing your words and space to the rest of us here in this beautiful sphere.
Brightest blessings
Your writings are amazing. I admire your ability to communicate your heart.
Wow, thanks. I am not sure if I am amazing, but I do enjoy people reading my work. Thank you very much.
Both of you.
Looks like your place is the right place to come whenever someone feels under the weather, so to speak.
I certainly hope it brings others some peace and possibly a little needed comfort.
Bekki, I am a big fan of yours. Your poetry touches my heart.
Oh, thank you so very much. I appreciate your wonderful words very much.

ah I’m just a pretender me, there isn’t a single careless word in your poetry Bekki, I dream of having so many poems, those on my blog are all so far, I like the spiritual ones best [so far,]see you again soon, luv Suz
Bekki I was reading the above, not for the first time, but my eyes played a trick, as I was reading “I am an optimist” my right eye saw the next line as “but I am also a dentist” there must be a poem there somewhere-Iwas just watching a vid are you from Noy Yoyk?
Nope, I am from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and now Wisconsin. (Just call me a rolling stone..lol) I grew up in Ohio and relocated to Pa, where my dad lived. Spent my married years in Fl and currently am in Wisconsin beginning again since I separated from my husband almost 1 year ago. (OMG has it really been that long?)Do I have a bit of an accent going on? That would be my Pa/ohio mixed with my country thang, I am thinking. I use to get teased a lot because I work very hard to get my diction correct (had a speech impediment when I was littler) and when I am really upset, angry or tired my drawl pops it’s evil head out for a look..lOl. I also have an annoying habit of catching on to accents fairly quickly and find myself unconsciously mimicking others, which can get me into trouble when they think I am mocking them. EEP. When I worked at Disney I had a man come to my podium and accurately name off all the place I had been all my life. (freaked me out) He was a linguist. You really are where you live..heh
Bekki
Ps. I am not a dentist..I have a healthy fear of dentist tools. (snicker)
I just read the comments above the comment I commented on (long way to go a short way?)I am stunned by the compliment. Thank you so very much for saying that! I try to focus on getting to the core words in a truth without extra flowers, though I do often do the flowery poems a bit too.
poetry is such a nice retreat. Isn’t it?
You write it well, too.
Thank you Kara., I try.
