Ponderance.

I speak of worlds undreamt
lines upon your palm
trace the journey of blood.                                  The silky touch of time.

remember this
though time passes
remember this
and know

there are vistas beyond us
places we cannot go
hallways and doorways
that are barred to walk

we hear the laughter
and fear the steps
for patterns that are beyond us
make mortals what we are.

remember this
and ponder
remember this
and know

We are but endless oceans
with no tide to pull us back
we linger over what we know
afraid of what we lack.

stars like fire above us
we smile to see the light
but cringe to see the blood
that we unknowingly create

Remember this
and acceptance
remember this
and trust

there is some beyond us
but much more kept
within, waiting
for the unlocking of a door.

I speak of worlds undreamt of
towering places we will never know
for we will dust return
and thought will change
and grow.

  1. Whoa! Bekki! The lady lays it down!
Even the tiny touch of Yoda-speak works.
Each time through this gentle epistle, Pete Townsend got louder in my head, “Let my love open the door.” – only with the significance ratcheted up to 11. No doubt we are witnessing transformations all round. Whew! Thanks.

  2. Oh thanks! This one is about time and how youth continues past us as we age. I actually hear that song “What a wonderful world, as I read this one” but I like the one you reference also for this!
