Eyes closed remembering

Do you know the meaning of
this thing I feel acutely,
the presence or absence
of your voice?

Do you understand the claws
that hinder my steps forward
because I want only to look back?

Do you trace the lines of time
embrace the scars turned into badges
wonder at the pathways taken
and the pathways left untraveled?

Do you feel my heartbeat
against your back
my breath in your ear
my hand in your palm
my shadow by your side?

  1. Just my opinion, but reading these older posts, I am taken by how much stronger the more recent posted poems are. I think these most recent poems are excellent. Will continue to explore your back catalogue little by little (not much time today) but will be particularly on the alert for new posts. Keep up the great work!

    1. Thanks. I think you will find my poems actually fluctuate in power. Mostly because I write through many emotions even when I know the ones that make the best poems are the thinking ones. I include them all but could easily tell you which ones are the better just from the thinking that went on beforehand. I like them all though.
