Time capsule

I remember you

Your bacon-wrapped salutation
lending itself to temptation.
The denim-covered memory
of time softened jeans.

Those Apple dappled cheeks
and cherry scented lips.
That cotton candy hair
and some time-twisted dare.

So much memory
it soaks up the sun.

I remember you

Dressed casually in artfully ripped
clever-quipped potential.
Trying to be something
that had no dictionary.

Unaware of your tarot,
lost in your dreams.
We were everything that could,
and nothing that couldn’t.

Forgive us such youthful folly
Unaware of the length of our string.

Help us forget.
Help us remember.
Help us forgive.
The past is where you live.

I remember.
