Can you canoe?

I stand unsteady, wondering
if you are wandering too.
Are you searching for me,
as I must search for you?

My hands aren’t as steady as I pretend.
My heart hung up on the thought
of what speaking might entail.
What words to keep
What truths to offer.

Will you know me by my laugh, my smile, my sigh.
Will you take a chance
Or let this moment die?

Are you awake or sleeping?
What secrets are you keeping?
